Star Reaches – Straight Leg

This exercise specifically helps cancer patients with neuropathy of the feet, and creates confidence in maintaining your standing balance. Being better balanced helps prevent falling and injuries – which is especially important for people with bone density issues and bones mets.

Purpose Increase hip and foot strength. Benefits Improved stability, functional strength, and injury prevention.


Starting Position Movement
Stand on one leg. Reach opposite leg in five directions (straight forward, diagonal forward-side, straight sideways, diagonal backward-side, straight backwards). Always bring foot back “home”, or next to standing leg but do not touch. Keep knee and hip from bending.
