Our mission is to help as many people as possible living with cancer get exercise.
We bridge the gap between medical treatment and physical activity by working with oncologists to bring exercise directly to patients. We are committed to using the latest cancer and fitness research to set standards in our field.
Our programs promote healing and a sense of well-being, while helping our clients gain control through their recovery process. Sunflower Wellness understands every person is different and offers custom-tailored programs to meet their needs, infusing a unique warmth into all our work.
"The only way you can hurt the body is not use it. Inactivity is the killer and, remember, it's never too late."
-- Jack LaLanne, 1914 - 2011

In 2010, Sunflower Wellness helped to establish an Exercise Counseling program at UC San Francisco. Cancer patients there can receive a FREE Exercise Counseling session onsite at the UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center in San Francisco at the Joseph and Ida Friend Cancer Resource Center. This unique program is offered free of charge to all UCSF cancer patients through generous grants from the Mount Zion Health Fund and Genentech. If you are a UCSF cancer patient, please call (415) 514-6430 to schedule an appointment. (We have counseled over 350 people since we started last year!)
It also gives us great pleasure to highlight the Sunflower Wellness Medical Advisory Board. Some of the country's leading researchers and clinicians are advising us on cancer and exercise. Learn more about them here.

Sunflower Wellness gratefully acknowledges and thanks the Mount Zion Health Fund, Genentech, the Miller Family Foundation, and the Paul and Elle Stephens Family Fund for supporting our work, and no one moreso than Mr. Bob. In addition, we are grateful to Western Athletic Clubs for generously sponsoring our work at The San Francisco Bay Club and Bay Club Marin.
